School’s Out… and So Am I
A love letter to every mom who’s just DONE.
I swear, the last four weeks of school are like the trials of Hercules—but with glitter, glue sticks, and soggy permission slips.
As if the regular school year isn’t enough, June comes in hot (literally) with:
Field trips that need signed forms and packed lunches that must be 100% disposable
Theme days with specific shirts and snack assignments
End-of-year projects that require 27 pipe cleaners your kid forgot to tell you about until 10 PM
And of course, those projects are too big for the bus so now you’re chauffeuring cardboard solar systems to school
I could go on. June is just May’s evil twin—with more sweat.
Right now, I’m three days from the last day of school and DONE with packing lunches for the next 10 weeks. But somehow, my to-do list is still a mile long. There’s the dance recital marathon, the four thousand workbooks being sent home (WHY do they send those home?), the summer reading emails, and more stuff to organize, toss, or feel guilty about ignoring.
And yes—I’m jealous.
Kids get ten weeks off. I want ten days. Hell, I’ll take two. Where’s my summer camp with pre-scheduled activities, prepped meals, and someone telling me when it’s pool time?
SIGN. ME. UP.
Real talk: This isn’t just end-of-year burnout.
This is a continuation of what’s expected of moms all year long. The mental load. The emotional labor. The remembering-for-everyone-else-ing.
And this isn’t a “bash your partner” moment—because even if you’ve got a solid one, it’s still too much.
This is why I started taking Momcations.
I needed a few days where no one needed anything from me.
Where I wasn’t prepping ahead just to survive the moment.
Where I could sit in silence, order takeout, or stare at a ceiling fan without planning the next 15 steps.
Even the most organized moms—yes, even the checklist queens—get to a point where it’s all too much.
You deserve to come down from this.
Not crash and burn—but gently land.
You deserve time to just be. To sit. To breathe. To exist without thinking, “What’s next?”
And if the idea of planning that break feels impossible? That’s where I come in.
Whether it’s:
A weekend with your best friend
A solo spa escape
Or one of our group Momcations...
I’ll take the planning off your plate.
You pack (with the help of my super simple checklist) and just show up. That’s it.
You’ve shown up for everyone else all year.
Now it’s time to show up for you.
Ready to reset? Check out our upcoming group trips or get a custom Momcation planned just for you. [Let’s talk!]
Until next time, here’s to making time for yourself - you deserve it!
