Frequently Asked Questions
What Even Is a Momcation?
(And Other General Stuff)
-
A Momcation is a getaway just for you. Not a family trip with goldfish crackers in your purse. Not a girls’ weekend you have to plan from scratch. It’s time off from everything—where you don’t have to pack snacks for anyone but yourself.
-
Any mom who’s ever felt like she’s running on fumes. Working moms, stay-at-home moms, co-parents, solo parents, business owners, burned-out achievers, and barely-holding-it-together multitaskers. If your brain is tired of making decisions and you’ve been saying “maybe next year” for years… this is your sign.
-
Not at all. You can join one of my planned group trips solo, with a friend, or bring your whole crew. If you’d rather do your own thing, I can plan a custom getaway just for you—or for a group of your people. Either way, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
-
I take the stress, decision-making, and 57-message group chats off your plate. You show up, sip a cocktail, and breathe. That’s the magic.
Trip Options
& How This Works
-
Absolutely. That’s what the Please Just Plan It for Us option is for. One destination, a few hotel options, custom links for each person, a WhatsApp group to keep everyone on track, and no group-text chaos.
-
Even easier. Head to the Come Away With Me section, pick the trip that speaks to your soul, and grab your spot before it’s gone.
-
1000% yes. You’ll have your own room (unless you want a roommate!) and you’ll meet other amazing women who also decided to finally take the damn trip.
-
Group trips have a loose itinerary with optional activities. Want to join the ghost tour? Great. Want to nap instead? Even better.
The Logistics (aka: what you were gonna ask anyway)
-
If you’re joining one of my hosted trips, I’ll tell you when and where to arrive, and you’ll book your flight on your own (but I’m happy to give you tips). If I’m planning a full custom trip, we can talk about add-ons like flight assistance or airport transfers.
-
For custom group trips, there's a one-time, non-refundable planning fee per person to get started. After that, you’ll get your trip options and booking link. If you're planning far enough ahead, payment plans may be available—otherwise, payment in full is due 60–90 days before the trip, depending on the destination and policies.
For my hosted Momcations, you’ll pay a deposit to hold your spot, then make monthly payments. The earlier you book, the more time you’ll have to spread it out. If you’re joining last-minute, you might need to pay in full upfront.
Either way, I’ll make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. No spreadsheets. No chasing down your crew. Just easy links, clear deadlines, and reminders when you need ’em.
-
I always recommend it. Life happens. Sick kids, surprise deadlines, that one friend who always flakes—travel insurance gives you peace of mind.
-
The planning fee is non-refundable (because the work starts way before the trip does). But if you’ve booked travel components, we’ll follow the cancellation policy of the hotel or provider. I’ll walk you through all of it.
-
Yes! I’m not a ghost planner. You’ll have direct access to me (and the WhatsApp group), and I’m always here for the “wait, what time is check-in again?” questions.
Just a heads-up: I’m also juggling my full-time job and full-time mom life—so while I might not reply instantly, I always get back to you as soon as I can (usually within 24 hours or less). I’m in this with you, and I won’t leave you hanging.
Other Things You Might Be Wondering
-
Sometimes, yes—but not always in the way you think.
For hosted Momcations, pricing is usually per person, even if you're sharing a room. Resorts—especially all-inclusives—base their rates on how many people will be eating, drinking, and using amenities, not just how many beds are in the room. So splitting a room doesn’t always mean splitting the cost.
If you're booking a custom trip with your group, I’ll walk you through what’s possible. Sometimes sharing makes a big difference, and sometimes it doesn’t change a thing. Either way, I’ll lay out your options clearly so your group can decide what works best.
Bottom line: I’ll help you figure out the setup that makes the most sense—and most importantly, still feels like a break.
-
I won’t fill out the forms for you (I believe in you, you’re a capable adult!), but I will send you everything you need to know: what’s required for your destination, how far in advance to apply or renew, and where to find the official links to get it done.
Whether it’s a passport, visa, or entry form, you’ll have clear guidance and zero guesswork. Just don’t wait until the week before the trip, okay?
-
Girl, I get it. It’s weird at first. You might even pack snacks for people who aren’t coming. But trust me—you’ll settle into the quiet real quick. You’ll get packing lists, know-before-you-go emails, and encouragement every step of the way. And if you need a pep talk before you leave, I will personally remind you that your family will survive... and that you deserve to do more than just survive.
-
Heck yes. Whether you need a well-worded email or a lovingly firm “I’m doing this for me,” I can help you say it with confidence. Want to drop a hint instead? I’ve got a “gift this trip to me” script for birthdays, holidays, or just because you’ve had it with being the family cruise director. Drop the link, set the tone, and let them know it’s time you got something other than another candle.
